Vascular Disease Screening

Screening for Carotid, Peripheral Artery Disease and Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm requires only few minutes, is painless and can be done without a physician referral.  Early detection of disease could save your life.

Carotid Disease – The carotid arteries are located in your neck that supply blood to the brain.  Over time, these arteries can narrow and reduce the amount of blood to the brain which can cause a stroke. A simple ultrasound test of these arteries will show if you have any plaque and narrowing of these blood vessels.

Peripheral Arterial Disease – P.A.D. is vascular disease, or narrowing of the arteries in your legs.  You may or may not have any symptoms, such as pain in your feet or legs, cold feet, or open sores.  Diabetics are even more likely to have P.A.D. Screening for peripheral diseases is done by taking blood pressures in both arms and ankles, with comparisons to determine presence of vascular disease.

Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm – Aortic aneurysm is the “ballooning” of the major abdominal artery caused by a weakening of the arterial wall, usually without symptoms.  If the aneurysm bursts, it can be life threatening.  An ultrasound exam can determine if you have an enlargement of this major artery.

Ask your doctor about these life saving tests.  Then make a call for your appointment, right here in your home town hospital, and at your convenience.  Monday – Friday, $35 each or all 3 for $95
